Hayley Harvey, Co-Owner & Team Lead
I was born and raised in Bradenton, FL and just purchased a home in Port Charlotte. I have 15+ years of experience with dogs and cats and a lifetime of love for animals. This experience comes from pet ownership, in-home boarding, fostering dogs and cats, working in animal shelters and actively training dogs and their people. Specifically, my animal rescue experience ranges from animal care technician, vet tech experience, dog training, animal enrichment, Volunteer and Foster Manager and Shelter Manager.
In addition to boarding with SimplyPets, I am currently a dog trainer with Advanced Canine Development! I earned a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from The University of the Incarnate Word on a full basketball scholarship. I also hold certifications in Shelter Management, Volunteer Management and Pet first aid and CPR while being CCPDT-KA certified.
I was honored to marry my wife, Jenny Harvey, in May of 2022 and I love spending time with her and our 6 animals (4 dogs and 2 cats). I love spending time spent outside whether at the beach (dog beach of course!), kayaking or walking new parks and preserves.
Jenny Harvey, Co-owner & Lead Support
Hello! I was born and raised in Port St. Lucie FL and I have lived on the West Coast of FL since 2011, I love it! I have been an animal lover my whole life and love being able to meet and hang out with so many new faces day in and day out. While I do not have the professional experiences my wife does, I am a certified couch cuddler, ear scratcher, treat giver and best co lead I can be!
We have absolutely loved the opportunity to open our home and give people peace of mind that their animals are being cared for while they are away. It is something very important to us because we have 5 animals of our own.
I look forward to meeting your family and having them become part of ours!
Koda, Activities Manager
Meet Koda, the dynamic activity manager who brings a spark of creativity and enthusiasm to her role. She's responsible for overseeing all aspects of our activity program, from conceptualizing innovative projects (like calculating the maximum number of balls that can fit in our house) to bringing those ideas to life. Her passion is contagious, whether she's brainstorming new product ideas, like ball pits, or taking charge of production, where she might even devise her own ball-making methods.
When she's not busy planning and executing projects, Koda loves to run, fetch, and carry around her beloved tennis balls, always on the lookout for someone to throw toys for her. With her infectious enthusiasm and boundless energy, Koda is the perfect fit for her role! We're thrilled to have her on our team at Simply Pets.
JB, Head of Communications
Meet JB, the canine communications expert with a wealth of knowledge in his native languages - barking, grumbling, huffing, and puffing. As the communications lead at Simply Pets., he will develop and implement a comprehensive strategy to ensure effective messaging, carefully considering the nuances of canine communication, including the art of barking (tone, timing, and volume).
When not crafting barks and growls for the organization, JB enjoys a structured routine that includes regular walks, mealtimes, and playtime, where he breaks out his signature awkward goofy play bows. We're thrilled to have JB on board, bringing his unique expertise to our team and helping us communicate more effectively. A big thank you to the Humane Society of Sarasota for bringing JB into our lives, and we're excited to see him thrive in his new role.
Chubs, Care Coordinator
Meet Chubs, the heart of Simply Pets. His motto, "You get a kiss, and you get a kiss!" sets the tone for his warm and welcoming nature. With an infectious smile and a fun-loving attitude, Chubs is the perfect fit for his role as Care Coordinator.
In this position, he takes on a leadership role, diligently managing and monitoring the care of all pets in our home. Chubs is dedicated to ensuring every visitor feels comfortable, heard, and well cared for. His passion for building meaningful relationships with humans and animals shines through in every interaction.
When he's not busy spreading joy, Chubs loves to indulge in his favorite pastimes: cuddling, giving kisses, and staying active through play. Chubs has blossomed into a loving and caring member of our team, and we're grateful to have scooped him up from The Humane Society of Lakewood Ranch.
Bear, Operations Manager
Meet Bear! As the mastermind behind Simply Pets., he orchestrates every day with precision, ensuring seamless interactions between animals and humans alike. With Bear at the helm, we know we're in capable hands.
Don't let his calm demeanor fool you – Bear has no problem taking charge and telling people what to do (politely, of course!). He leads with confidence and clarity, making sure everyone knows their role in keeping Simply Pets. running like clockwork.
In his downtime, Bear indulges in his favorite activities: curling up in boxes and bags, savoring treats, and basking in the sun's warmth on the patio. He is the embodiment of calm and collected leadership and brings a sense of serenity and stability to our daily operations. With Bear leading the way, everything runs smoothly and efficiently.
Archie, Head of Security
Meet Archie, the most fierce member of the Harvey and Simply Pets. family, courtesy of The Humane Society of Sarasota! Despite her tiny size, this bulldog is dead serious about her role as Head of Security.
Some might call her "nosey," but we say she's just doing her job - protecting us all from threats like Amazon boxes, unauthorized stretching, and empty laps. No package is too big, no stretch goes unprotected, and no lap is ever empty.
Archie burst into our lives like a furry tornado, and we're still getting used to her crazy sleeping positions, stealthy cat-like stalking of ribbon toys and non-stop playfulness. But one thing's for sure: with Archie on the job, our pets are in good hands (or should we say, good paws?). Rest assured, she's got this - and our hearts!
Russell, Chief Snack Officer/Assistant
Meet Russell! This charming pup hails from the "Candy" litter (formerly, Toffee) from the one and only Rescue Garage, and is destined for greatness as a food connoisseur... he's already proving to be a treat-loving legend in his own right!
His roles at Simply Pets. are multifaceted: he's our Chief Snack Officer, where he'll oversee all snack-related activities, Assistant to the Activities Manager, where he'll help plan paw-some playtime and adventures and he's lending a paw as Assistant to the Care Coordinator, ensuring all furry friends receive the best care possible.
In his free time, Russell enjoys running full speed, napping with his favorite toys, plotting his next snack attack and charming everyone he meets. We're thrilled to have Russell on board and can't wait to see what sweet adventures he'll bring to Simply Pets.

We are devastated and heartbroken to announce the passing of the best boy, dog sibling, and best friend to anyone and everyone, Brogan. There is an emptiness here at SimplyPets. HQ that is undeniable. Thank you to all of our friends, family, and incredible clients for reaching out to Jenny and I and for loving our handsome boy. He will be forever missed, forever loved, and forever in our hearts.
